Tap the large button on a gate card. The button pulses amber while sending and turns green when the gate is opening. If the gate does not respond, tap again — the button stays blue when ready.

Sign in with Face ID, fingerprint or screen lock instead of an SMS code. After signing in with SMS, the app offers to set it up once — or add it any time here under Passkeys. Next time, tap 🔑 Sign in with passkey.

No SMS code? Tap “Send again” — after a short while Logg inn med Vipps also appears on the code screen.

Some gates are marked with an amber ripple icon next to the status text. These gates require you to press and hold the open button for 1.5 seconds to prevent accidental opening — for example while scrolling. A white fill sweeps across the button as you hold; release early to cancel.

Tap the ripple icon to disable hold-to-open for yourself on that gate (the icon dims). Tap it again to re-enable it. This is a personal setting stored on your device and does not affect other users.

You can also turn it on or off with the Hold to open switch on the gate's My access / admin screen. If the admin has made it mandatory, the switch says so and cannot be changed.

If the gate sensor detects the door is already open but the relay did not fire, the button turns amber. Tap it to re-send the opening pulse.

If you also have access to older CyberKey 2G units, they are listed under 2G units below your gates — on your phone only, not on a PC. The list is collapsed at first: tap Show 2G units. A 2G unit is opened by a phone call or an SMS “Sesam”, not from the app. Tap the 2G badge on a unit to see your role, access period and when it last synced. Units that have not been in contact for 14 days are not shown. You can hide the whole section under ⚙ Settings → Show 2G units.

An admin can make a regular user a Superuser on a gate. They can then add, edit, or remove a small number of their own users — without contacting the admin.

A gate where you're a Superuser shows a two-person icon labelled Super instead of the usual single-person icon. Tap it to open My access, then tap View/add users. Anyone you add can never get wider access than you have yourself.

If a gate has a saved location, a Get directions button appears on its My access screen — tap it to open the route in Google Maps.

Admins can set a gate's location from Device settings → Set position — tap the map or use "Use my location", then confirm.

The six-dot grip on the left side of each gate card lets you drag cards up or down to change the order. Press and hold the grip, drag to the desired position, then release. The order is saved automatically on this device.

CyberKey supports connecting AI assistants that understand the Model Context Protocol (MCP), such as Claude. This lets you ask the assistant directly to list your gates, open one, check the access log, or manage users — in plain language.

To connect: in your AI assistant, add a new connector/MCP server using this address:

You'll be asked to log in with your phone number, same as in this app — no separate password is needed. Once connected, the assistant always re-checks your permissions live, the same as this app does.

CyberKey stores only what access control needs: your name and access number (phone number, PIN, card number or radio code, depending on how you were added). If logging is on for a gate, openings are stored too, and the log is deleted automatically after 75 days. Administrators can also turn logging off entirely. Your data is never sold, and there is no advertising or tracking.

The owner of each gate (for example a housing cooperative or a company) is responsible for the personal data of that gate's users, and decides through the gate's administrator who has access. Saco Teknikk AS and SENDIT AS supply and operate CyberKey as processors on behalf of the gate owners. Requests to see, correct or delete your data go to the administrator of your gate.
